I believe that all behavior makes sense when we fully appreciate the context in which it occurs. Often we find that our patterns of behavior have their origins in previous life experiences and relationships. As a relationally and systemically trained therapist, my aim is to assist you in better understanding how various factors can affect how you think and feel, and how you respond to challenging situations in your life. My hope is that through our work you feel greater alignment with your values and what is most important to you.
I specialize in anxiety, depression, substance use concerns, codependent dynamics, family of origin issues, intergenerational conflict, life cycle transitions, family caregiving, and men’s issues.
I approach my work with compassion, curiosity, and at times humor. I also provide direct, strengths-based feedback and will help to establish with you the direction of therapy and evaluate progress in a collaborative way. I often use internal family systems (IFS) to help clients integrate parts of themselves and optimize how they move through life and cultivate deeper connection with others. This is a holistic and empowering approach that views each person as having a multiplicity of parts or sub-personalities, each with its own unique characteristics and experiences. By identifying and working with these different parts, we can address and resolve underlying issues, resulting in greater self-awareness and self-regulation.
